Making a watermark that actually works
A watermark in one corner is easy to crop off. If the point is to deter reuse rather than to sign your work, switch on tile across the whole image, drop the opacity to around 20–30% and add a slight rotation — it stays readable but becomes impractical to remove.
Choosing a colour
White reads well on darker photos and black on lighter ones. At low opacity the exact colour matters less than the contrast against whatever sits behind it.
