Your files never leave your device — everything runs right here in your browser.
How to compress an image
Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP file above, then drag the quality slider until the preview still looks right to you. Most photos survive a drop to around 70–80 quality with no visible difference and end up roughly a quarter of their original size.
Which format should I pick?
JPG is the safe default for photographs. WebP usually produces a noticeably smaller file at the same quality and is supported by every current browser. PNG is lossless, so quality has no effect — use it only when you need a transparent background.
Is there a file size limit?
No. Compression happens on your own machine rather than on a server, so the only limit is your device’s memory. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored.
